Extended Stay America - Olympia, WA

Olympia, WA

Situated between Mt. Rainier National Park and Olympic National Park, Olympia is the capital of Washington State. If you're looking for Olympia hotels, Extended Stay America has a great place to stay at a great price.

While state government is Olympia's largest employer, the area is also an important cultural center for the Puget Sound region. Olympia sits at the southern end of Puget Sound, a large tidal body of water that stretches south from the Straights of Juan de Fuca at the Canadian border deep into the state.

Anyone interested in the architecture of government buildings will find Olympia an interesting place to visit. The old capitol building, located in Sylvester Park, has a handsome stone construction, reminiscent of the English style popular in many Canadian government buildings. The new capitol, built in 1928, was one of the last great domed buildings to be built in the United States.

Given that Olympia is home to Evergreen State College, it is no surprise that Outside Magazine named the city one of the best college towns for its vibrant downtown and access to outdoor activities. Evergreen State College was founded in 1967 and serves a student population of about 4,500 annually.

For a relaxing break, take the short one-mile drive to Tumwater Falls Park, a beautiful 15-acre park and one of the last privately owned parks in the state. Surrounded by walking trails and great natural beauty, the park is on the banks of the Deschutes River, where it encompasses a gorge and Tumwater Falls.

If you'd like to hit the greens while in Olympia, plan to visit the Tumwater Valley Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course that is just two miles from the Extended Stay America Olympia - Tumwater Hotel.

For a great Olympia, Washington hotel, Extended Stay America is a terrific choice.
